Dr Paolo Dini

Dr Paolo Dini is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Media and Communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science. His research is concerned with socio-economic development, foundations of computer science, and mathematical structures in biology. Coming from a background in aerospace engineering and aerodynamics modelling, he has taught physics at university level for 5 years at Carleton and St Olaf colleges in the US, has then worked as a research scientist for a wearable computer company for 3 years, also in the US, followed by 1 year in the Software Engineering and Applications group at Philips Research Laboratories, UK. He then spent 2 years at the MIT Media Lab Europe in Dublin where he led research projects centred around the concept of self-organisation in a wide range of fields. Dr Dini is the Project Coordinator of the OPAALS Network of Excellence.
